Music, Light and Ideas Returns with Groundbreaking New Experiences

The Vivid Sydney festival, one of the world’s most iconic and anticipated cultural events, is set to return in 2025 with an even more vibrant and immersive experience. Running from May 23 to June 14, 2025, this year’s festival will showcase spectacular light installations, extraordinary music performances, and innovative ideas, inviting locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the magic of Sydney’s creativity and culture.

Vivid Music will bring an eclectic lineup of world-class artists and emerging talent, with performances spanning genres from electronic to jazz, indie to experimental, and everything in between. Major events will include live performances at the Sydney Opera House, The Domain, Carriageworks and pop-up events around the city, creating an exciting atmosphere of discovery.

In an extraordinary convergence of musical worlds, Icelandic post-rock pioneers Sigur Rós are set to join forces with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for an exclusive performance like no other. This epic collaboration, taking place at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, will blend Sigur Rós’ ethereal, atmospheric sound with the grandeur and depth of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra's world-class musicianship.

Other highlights include Australian exclusive performances from ANOHNI and the Johnsons, legendary American jazz guitarist and composer Pat Metheny also Portishead’s iconic vocalist Beth Gibbons and Japanese Breakfast plus a whole lot more performing at Sydney Opera House.
