Who is Confidence Man?

Confidence Man is a four person electro dance-pop group formed in Brisbane, Australia in 2016. In the six years since their inception, Confidence Man has taken over Australia, and the globe!

With a number of successful headlining tours, albums, EPs, and singles, Confidence Man should have all the confidence in the world that they’re the next big dance-pop group.

Who are the Members of Confidence Man?

The four members of Confidence Man all go by pseudonyms in the band, but it’s unknown if this is for personal privacy reasons or for the outwardly humorous persona of the group.

Either way, we’re glad they’re here. The members are Janet Planet and Sugar Bones on vocals, Reggie Goodchild on synthesizer, and Clarence McGuffie on drums.

Confidence Man Albums and Chart Success

In their time together, Confidence Man has released some truly heavenly recordings. They have two full length albums, their debut album Confident Music for Confident People released in 2018, and Tilt released in April 2022. Confident Music for Confident People peaked at number 31 on the Australian ARIA charts, and Tilt peaked at an impressive number 7.

With names like Janet Planet and Sugar Bones, something tells me this feminist bent group doesn't worry about competition with other bands on the charts. Their performances, tracks, writing, vocals, and success speaks for itself. Their beautiful hair and feminine energy are just an added bonus.

Confidence Man's EPs, and Singles

Their most recent release is an EP entitled “Re-Tilt,” and is made-up of remixes of singles from Tilt. Confidence Man has a number of non-album tracks as well, including dance-inducing songs like holiday hit “Santa’s Comin’ Down the Chimney,” “Does it Make You Feel Good?” and “First Class Bitch.” I don’t know about you, but we’re getting a first class ticket to their next show! Speaking of shows…

Confidence Man Tours

Confidence Man is bringing the boogie to stages across the globe, and has been for awhile now. They have headlined on five different major tours, “The Boyfriend (repeat) Tour'' in 2016, “The Hard Candy Tour” in 2017, “The Ring'A Ding Ding Tour” also in 2017, “Confident Music for Confident People World Tour” in 2018, and the “Tilt Tour” in 2022, which is going to start it’s European leg in November of this year!

They’ll be playing shows across the United Kingdom, Spain, and Ireland before returning to Australia to play at Beyond the Valley in Hesse, and at Luna Park Sydney on New Year’s Eve. Talk about a band who knows how to party!

If you're planning a holiday anytime soon, why not travel to hear the music of people named Clarence Mcguffie or Reggie Goodchild! It's not often you hear crazy names like that. We promise their songs will make you get up and dance.

Global Festivals

Confidence Man has already played at some major international festivals, including “Rock en Seine (Paris), Primavera Sound (Barcelona), Governors Ball (New York), Glastonbury (UK), and Splendor in the Grass (Australia)" according to their Spotify bio.

It sounds like no matter where you live in the world, there’s a good chance Confidence Man may someday come to a stage near you!
