From Koumala, Queensland, Australia has AMUSA in Classical Violin, and Bachelor of Jazz Voice. She was invited to record an album with Jim Pugh in New York City in 2004 alongside Kenny Werner, Thomas Morgan, Bill Campbell, Nick Mancini - featuring her voice and compositions. Kristin received an OZCO grant to study in New York City 2005 with Ingrid Jenson - improvisation, David Binney- composition & Tom Shilling - voice. She came 3rd in Australia's National Jazz Awards - Wangaratta Jazz Festival 2005 and came 1st in the International Shure Vocal Competition - Montreux Jazz Festival 2006.
