Kisschasy was formed in 2002. Three of the four members of the band grew up in the small country town of Balnarring in the Mornington Peninsula. Darren Cordeux (who is the lead singer of Kisschasy and guitarist) grew up in Cranbourne in Melbourne Victoria. He is vegan and he is the youth ambassador for an organisation called Animals Australia and is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend called Tahlia. Cordeux left school early in order to pursue his music career (one of the reasons for this was because the school he went to did not teach music as a subject) he would write songs on his guitar and tour around the country with his parents. He has played in numerous bands switching between vocals, keyboards, guitar and drums; before he got his big break in Kisschasy. Joel Vanderuit bassist, Sean Thomas guitarist and Karl Ammitzboll drummer played in a local band called Tenpin, who achieved a little local success. The formation of Kisschasy happened when Cordeux's band met Joel's, Karl's and Sean's band Tenpin in the city in Melbourne in a place called the Art House and they met on the Warped Tour in May 2002.
