To say that the last 12 months has been a busy time for Adelaide rock band ‘In Fiction’ would be a gross understatement. After a busy 2006; releasing 1 EP, touring nationally, and doing supports for a bunch of local and international acts, Unwritten Law (USA), Anberlin (USA) and Gyroscope to name a few, In Fiction were geared up and ready to go for the year 2007. Early in the year the band released their second EP – ‘Ghost’, which debuted at no. 11 in the ARIA singles charts and maintained a top 20 position for three weeks following its release. This impressive chart position came as a testament to the impact the band had already made on national music scene. After the EP’s release the band continued to spend time on the road, increasing their rapid growth on the national touring circuit. By the end of 2007 the band would play over 70 shows (over 60 being interstate), complete four complete national tours as well as smaller runs of interstate city & regional shows. This sort of relentless touring has seen In Fiction develop a considerable profile on a national format. Their dedicated work ethic has seen the band acquire support slots with some of the most coveted artists from here and abroad, including national tours with The Matches (USA), Kisschasy and Behind Crimson Eyes. These high profile tours have allowed the band to showcase their energetic live show to thousands of people across the country. With 2007 drawing to a close, the band returned to their hometown of Adelaide and entered the studio to begin recording their debut album, due out mid 2008. With fans eagerly awaiting its release the album is set to propel In Fiction even further into the mainstream and make their mark on the international music scene. Armed with a remarkable debut album, an explosive live show and a national fan-base, 2008 is gearing up to be one hell of a year for In Fiction. source: www.infiction.com.au
